**Bleed Electric release debut double A-Side Single 02.02.2010 **

“The Last Night of 1989 / XII Special Weapons and Tactics"
available digitally via Altsounds Records

The time has finally come for the release of Bleed Electric’s
<javascript:void(0);/*1264046496667*/>
much anticipated debut single, “The Last Night of 1989 / XII
Special Weapons and Tactics.” Bleed Electric
<javascript:void(0);/*1264046503601*/>
is a Hip Hop / Alternative / Electro trio from Cardiff, Wales that
is a result of the partnership between Altsounds.com owner Chris
"MUG5" Maguire and band mates Silk and Siege. Originally a solo
project for Maguire, Bleed Electric quickly grasped its definitive
sound and identity upon Maguire’s collaboration with Silk and Siege.

“The Last Night of 1989 / XII Special Weapons and Tactics” serves
as an introduction to the several double A-side singles to be released
in the next 18 months from Bleed Electric’s debut albums “Radio
Friendly Unit Shifter” and “The Butterfly Effect.” The double
A-sides actually consist of one track off of each respective album,
with “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter” playing the role of the more
commercially-acceptable counterpart to Bleed Electric’s concept
album, “The Butterfly Effect.” Essentially these two albums are
polar opposites of each other in all possible senses: sound, subject
matter, and overall feel. Why this combination? Bleed Electric aims to
draw in the masses through the lighter pop of “Radio Friendly Unit
Shifter” in order to simultaneously hit listeners with the main
focus of the band, which is the much darker material on “The
Butterfly Effect.” Touché, Bleed Electric, touché.

Bleed Electric plans to release the rest of the double A-side singles
throughout the next two years in order to create a piecing-together
effect for the listener. Each back-side single from “The Butterfly
Effect” is denoted with a Roman numeral to indicate in which order
that single lies on the album. After Bleed Electric has released all
the singles, the listeners will be able to recreate the entire
storyline of “The Butterfly Effect,” which essentially follows the
life of main character Andy Turner and his walk through all sorts of
crazy events involving love, drugs, murder, hostage situations, and
everything else leading up to the taking of his own life.

In order to convey their music exactly the way that they imagined it,
the members of Bleed Electric have conceptualized and produced every
aspect of not only their albums, but also the accompanying, artwork,
photography and music videos as well. Bleed Electric’s first music
video was for “The Last Night of 1989”
<javascript:void(0);/*1264046482071*/>
which was created 100% by the band. Bleed Electric plans to create
videos for the counterpart singles from “The Butterfly Effect”
which will appear like scenes from a movie, following the story of
Andy Turner.

By creating these albums and releasing its singles in this unique
way, Bleed Electric hopes to shake up the music industry in an attempt
to break from it's traditional concepts of how music should be
portrayed and released.

Bleed Electric’s music of an ungraspable and unique genre is bound
to continue to capture the attention of listeners throughout these
next 18 months. “The Last Night of 1989 / XII Special Weapons and
Tactics” is only a taste of what Bleed Electric and Altsounds
Records has in store for the masses, so be prepared.

About Altsounds.com

AltSounds <http://altsounds.com/>
is an international alternative online music community. By
‘Alternative’ we don’t mean ‘Alt Rock,’ we mean it as its
technical definition - Alternative to the mainstream. It’s about
having a choice, both in music and where you go to hear it. At
AltSounds <http://altsounds.com/>
, we have designed a community that gives listeners a place to find
the best new music available in an environment that works for them and
with them. For artists, we have designed profiles that work like EPKs
and have built-in, automatic promotion to help them gain new fans and
create their own buzz more easily. For labels, we have designed an
inexpensive promotion and advertising system that allows them to reach
a large focused audience with incredible ease. We have seen what else
is out there and decided it wasn’t good enough. Other sites do not
satisfy all of our needs as fans, musicians, and artist promoters. We
needed a site that could do it all without costing fans money,
crashing regularly and sounding like shit, and the only way to get it
was to build it ourselves.

AltSounds <http://altsounds.com/>
is committed to providing the best possible service to artists,
labels and especially fans by making the site wholly interactive and
constantly fresh. We encourage fans to express themselves through the
site by adding the content that THEY care about. We create our own
original content and offer our expert opinions on various facets of
music, as well as collect the most important and entertaining content
available online. We bring the fans exactly what they want, and gather
it into the most functional and visually appealing music site on the
internet. Being so ‘fan-focused’ has allowed us to create a
promotional system for artists unparalleled in other alleged artist
sites. In addition to having profiles laid out more like EPKs, acting
as the ‘ultimate fan page,’ the built-in promotion and advertising
for premium artists allows the high quality music to cycle through the
entire site, bringing it to people’s attention no matter where they
are or what they are doing. Premium artists are also included in our
various radio stations, making their music even more accessible, and
also qualifying them for additional front page, on-site and off-site
promotion. AltSounds <http://altsounds.com/>
provides artists with all of the tools necessary to take them to the
next level of promotion.

There is no other site like AltSounds, <http://altsounds.com/>
as we are the first to fully understand what it means to be a fan,
be a musician, and work in the biz. We have a created a site from that
perspective and know you will love it.

Welcome to AltSounds.com! <http://../>

Our top rated Album, Single of the week ...

Vampire Weekend - Contra
<http://hangout.altsounds.com/reviews/113862-vampire-weekend-contra-album.html>

94%
<http://hangout.altsounds.com/reviews/113862-vampire-weekend-contra-album.html>

In the language of music, change creates emphasis. Rarely do you
meet a band that is able to create and shape change in such a powerful
way. The third track, ‘Holiday’ and the fourth track ‘California
English’ are definitely perfect epitomes of change, although
‘Holiday’ has this deep rooted ska vibe. The guitars have are the
main players in this song and different tones can be overheard.
‘California English’ on the other hand is extremely quick and
heavy, it sounds like a sped up auto tune experiment that some could
argue is the way of ‘Vampire Weekend’ attempting to become more
commercial but, in reality, it is only setting them apart. The auto
tune is of course used on purpose and it is meant to be noticed
together with the calypso style background harmony and the drum din.
Ezra himself expressed the implausibility of them sounding like T-Pain
but instead coming closer to other music using auto tune apart from
American Pop.

Vampire Weekend - Cousins

91%
<http://hangout.altsounds.com/reviews/113744-vampire-weekend-cousins-single.html>

Cousin’s starts with this ‘feel good’ groove that only
Ezra’s voice can offer and with the ultra sharp guitar that forces
you to get up and start dancing and humming to the words of the song
even though you have never heard the entire tune or paid attention to
the lyrics. Then as usual you encounter an unpredictable bass and drum
line that match themselves in this perfect quick non punk, non indie
sound that of course makes Vampire Weekend worth it already.

Yeasayer - Ambling Alp

96%
<http://hangout.altsounds.com/reviews/113799-yeasayer-ambling-alp-single.html>

Let’s put it another way â€" ‘Ambling Alp’ makes my heart beat
much faster. I love it. I love the drums. I love the little robotic
“aahs” in the background. I love the Bee Gee-falsetto middle
eight. I love the way things go all distorted and slightly wonky at
times because the song is so good it has to fake its imperfections. I
love it all so much I want to take it to work with me and sit it on my
desk and feed it Cadbury’s Buttons. Yes when music connects with you
this much it makes you feel silly and sometimes that comes out in
words. But this is not being silly; we’re less than a week into 2010
and already it’s hard to imagine a better song being released all
year. If they’ve managed to repeat this oddball melodic greatness
elsewhere on “Odd Blood” then we may well have another album of
the year decided within the first two months.

Animal Collective - Fall be Kind

89%
<http://hangout.altsounds.com/reviews/113702-animal-collective-fall-be-kind-ep.html>

Having released the first great album of 2009 in “Merriweather
Post Pavillion,” it’s perhaps only fitting that Animal Collective
should bookend the year with another release of shimmering beauty.
“Fall be Kind” is a five track EP that continues their rather
industrious tradition of releasing an EP shortly after an album (which
they have released at a rate of pretty much one a year for their nine
years together) and it has gained a little bit of press due to it
featuring the first ever track to ‘officially’ sample Grateful
Dead (they allowed a vocal section of ‘Unbroken Chain’ to be used
on ‘What Would I Want? Sky’ â€" their first ever permission slip).

NoFX - Cokie the Clown

93%
<http://hangout.altsounds.com/reviews/113694-nofx-cokie-the-clown-album.html>

It’s blatantly clear that NoFX are one of the bands that have
influenced tens of thousands of kids to pick up guitars and have a go
at getting heard. Where I think NoFX stand out from other epically
huge punk bands like Green Day, is that they have always made it clear
that punk rock is more about doing the right thing, being individual
and making a mark than it is about doing what a record label thinks
will maximise their unit shifting potential. NoFX have never released
an album on a major label and yet they manage to be one of the most
persistently well known punk bands on the scene for the last twenty
years.

releases. Altsounds is not afraid to speak it’s mind.

The tune? Well, it's fuckin' awful, of course. Imagine a third rate
grimer being butt-fucked by some European techno DJ called Jurgen and
you've got the drift. Look, I said I was prepared to acknowledge them.
I didn't say I had to think that they were any good.

<http://hangout.altsounds.com/reviews/113714-jason-derulo-whatcha-say-single.html>

As with a lot of current Pop and R&B, the order of the day seems to
be to throw some Roland 808 shuffling beat at the issue, back it up
with some digital strings, and get a good looking front man/woman to
sing about the ups and downs of love. "Whatcha Say" is no different.
In fairness the chorus line is pretty catchy 'Whatcha Say' has a
nicely produced pitched up vocoded vocal line, that sort of sounds
like a 'Scooter' chorus after being washed with some fabric
conditioner, the soft and fluffy kind.

"No... If somebody says “Doesn’t that sound a bit like...” we
go back and see if it really sounds too much like that, because we try
really hard not to write the same song twice, and we always try to
look for new ideas. I think having new people in the band every now
and then is useful; we always listen to each other. We all like
different music to start with, really different music."

With a large and diverse back catalogue of material to choose from,
the set list is always going to be a subject up for debate. Surely
many here tonight were hoping for a large dose of the 80s glory days
material, and although this period is quite well represented in the
form of ‘Get me out’ and ‘Lurhstaap’, it is hard to make
everyone happy and promote a new album at the same time. However, it
is surprising how well the new material seems to fit in with the old
New Model Army sound. New songs like ‘Autumn’ and ‘Arm
yourselves and run’ already sound like residents in a New Model Army
set, and the title track ‘Today is a good day’ assures everyone
that Justin Sullivan’s band is as relevant today as it has always
been.

So perfect is this creature known as Them Crooked Vultures that the
night can actually be filled with their own songs after just one
album, with no need for any covers to be played and not the slightest
hint of disappointment from either Zeppelin, Nirvana or Queens of The
Stone Age fans here reunited. Track after track, it’s a crescendo
that leaves you gasping for breath, caught in the excitement of
witnessing something so awesome that is old and new at the same time.

Overall the game is a very enjoyable one to play either on your own

relate to given how the dance scene seems to have more people into it
than the rock scene (at least in my town). Whether this inspires a new
generation of DJ’s remains to be seen.

**The Altsounds Concentrate | Sunday 03rd January 2010**

I feel it's time to tell you a little story.....

Once upon a time, back in the days when Pornography and Spam ruled
the world there lived a studio. Not just any studio, but a multimedia
studio <http://screamadelica.co.uk/>
for the future. A studio <http://screamadelica.co.uk/>
that stands the test of time simply because it makes the time. The
studio <http://screamadelica.co.uk/>
was Screamadelica Studios <http://screamadelica.co.uk/>
. It single handedly took on the daunting task of destroying the old
and looking into the future for a whole new world on which to reign.
That world was Altsounds.com <http://altsounds.com/>
.

Now if you haven't noticed, there has been some changes to
Altsounds.com <http://altsounds.com/>
. And when I say changes, I mean BIG changes. I mean just look at the
revamped [Version 6] of the site, it looks spectacular. If I was a URL
I would certainly take Altsounds.com <http://altsounds.com/>
on a date. Have a look for yourselves and prepare to be shocked (in
a good way of course!)

This 8 Pints is a special addition to the catalogue as we are more
than proud to present our Official Altsounds.com
<http://altsounds.com/>
Top 50 Albums of 2009 in one big fat gorgeous list. This list is not
only the best in terms of musicality, but it is also the most
aesthetically pleasing. And designed by who? Yes you gotz it -
Screamadelica Studios <http://screamadelica.co.uk/>
. We feel so comfortable with this list, it shows the true power of
our collective musical opinions and most of all - it demonstrates
musical honesty.

Take a look through the list and read our reviews of the albums.

Starting at Number 50, Kasabian ...

ALTSOUNDS.COM OFFICIAL TOP 50 ALBUMS OF 2009
