It's all going on in AltSounds this week. With a load of live reviews being posted, some epic album reviews splashed across the place, and a war between Britain and the USA, AltSounds seems like the place to be. But do you know what, we want more! We want more of your opinions. We want to know more about what drives you insane, why you hate that band, why you'd give your right arm to see this band play live at a festival this summer. Do you often think 'man, I wish there was a feature about this?' Well, write it! Chances are we want to read about it too.
We're proud to state that we have a simmering pot of exceptional talent, and the work you all produce on a daily basis proves this, it's just we want to boil over. Woo, I'm excited

Elk - Let's Get Married
Shape Up Records | 87%
Let’s Get Married turns out to be an incredibly eclectic opus that weaves together electronic, psychedelic, shoegaze and even tropicalia. Threading the whole shebang together is a distinct 1980s atmosphere that pervades almost everything.

The View at Old Blue Last, London
February 2nd 2011 | 94%
The View did an awesome job at choosing the setlist, which contained a fair amount of new songs and also most of their well know hits and amazing tracks. They did not give us a break and maintained the energy and rock and roll vibe through all the show, indicating exactly what the band is all about.

It’s only a matter of time before these guys sell out entire arenas but don’t take my word for it – mark their words - they’re taking over the world!

Snow White's Poison Bite - The Story Of Kristy Killings
Sound of Finland | 89%
When asked the best part about recording this album as their full-length début, Cotterill responded that all the hard work put in was the best part of getting it done. That response represents the amount of passion Snow White’s Poison Bite shows in their music, and it makes some - myself included - appreciate it even more.

Build a Band - Issue 3: The Lead Guitarist
Perhaps the lack of interest or opinion was due to the fact that there was only one man on everybody’s mind (or just because this weak feature has run it’s course), but I’ll power through with a variation of top flight guitarists because it can’t always be and isn’t that simple. You can ask any great sportsman who plays in a team game that one man can’t win the game. To become a supergroup you can’t have one person leading the band.

The Lowdown - The Ocean
If I feel I like the band and realize that the lyrics are superficial or just not well-written, it can totally ruin the experience for me. But on the other hand, if they have something to offer there as well, that can make the experience a lot more profound, moving and enjoyable.
