Anyone actually give a shit about Valentines anymore? Or is that just me being bitter? Who knows. We do hope you all had a lovely time though, full of gifts, chocolate, wine and don't forget a momentous occasion with your loved one (cheeky). My one and only love is AltSounds.com and we have had a brilliant day, just chilling, listening to tunes and churning out some brilliant features and they are all jammed into this weeks 8 Pints.
Just as a side note, I don't get "cheeky" with AltSounds, just putting that out there, you know - it's physically impossible. I've said too much, shit. Have fun reading this weeks musical beast.

Freestylers - Say Yes | Single
Against The Grain/Supercharged UK Records | 80%
In Say Yes, Freestylers have achieved that rare thing – a song that not only will the mainstream dance market enjoy but, which will also find a home in the collections of hardcore ravers and underground music fans nationwide.

Annabel - Here We Are Tomorrow | EP
Tiny Engines | 93%
I enjoyed every song on Here We Are Tomorrow. All five warrant repeated listens. Perhaps my favorites are the melodic, punk-ish and driving opening track ‘The Forgetting of Names’ and the beautiful closer ‘New Learning Possibilities’.

Viking Skull - Heavy Metal Thunder | Album
Restricted Release Records | 89%
It would be easy to sum this album up as a modern day masterpiece but that would be wrong – it would also be doing Viking Skull a huge disservice!

Murderdolls w/ Black Veil Brides and The Defiled at Manchester Academy | Live
11th February 2011 | 91%
Not only is Joey Jordison the most freakishly astonishing drummer to ever demolish a drum kit, tonight he proves he’s a rhythm-guitar extraordinaire, ripping through riffs with ball-breaking bravado and thrashing his head like a true rock demigod.

Head to Head - The War of Opinion | Issue 3
Amongst all the ‘getting back to reality’ and doing anything in our power to avoid the January blues, Mark and I have been busy discussing music. I educated Mark about the legendary Eva Cassidy, yep, he didn’t have a clue who she is, silly billy. I downloaded some Karnivool and welcomed A Day to Remember into my life, thank to the recommendation from Mark. See, we both teach each other some stuff and learn, but we also come to logger heads about certain music too! The four tracks we have today for you couldn’t have been better to show you what I mean. In our musical cocktail today we have a dash of hip hop, some techno mixer, a splash of punk and a sprinkling of death metal. Mmmmm, controversial.

Complaints Department | Issue 01 - Rihanna's Steamy S&M Video
Rihanna's brand new, saucy single ‘S&M’ has recently been released off her filth studio album, Loud. In the short time of it being out in the open, it has caused vast scepticism around the world, resulting in the video being banned in 11 countries and has even been banned from Radio 1's playlist...

New Noise | Issue 10
The name Justin and Beiber hit my TV screen, I looked up from the laptop and there it was; an advert for a JB film coming to a cinema near you. What has the world come to? Immediately I started typing, pulling that image out of my head before I murdered something. Thankfully, my inbox is full of music that is actually listenable! So I knuckled down, slammed the headphones on and found these cheeky artists to check out...

Soundtracked! Issue #1 - The Next Three Days
Welcome one and all to my new feature, Soundtracked! When I’m not chained to my desk slaving away for AltSounds in a scene straight out of Misery, I’m sat feet up in my local cinema absorbing every reel. As a form of escapism, cinema can’t be beaten, with its ever changing sights and of course, speaker-shattering sounds.

Valentine's Day's 2011 - Corniest Top Ten Love Songs
In the mood to jazz things up this Valentine's Day? Well, I have a list here of the "Valentine's Day's Corniest Top Ten Love Songs". The catch is to not use any of these songs - EVER! Although they might have seemed decent at first, trust me, they will not turn the heat up this season. Some of them are old while some are recent. In all reality, there are just too many cheeseball songs to count...
