EXTENSIVE coverage of this years Leeds festival. Literally I was shocked, I have never seen anything like it, 29 bands reviewed, along with photos. This is some of the biggest festival coverage we have ever pushed out to our readers, so, here it all is. Get the kettle on, get the biscuits out and knuckle down to some festival reading. Also, I'm really happy to drop the link in this newsletter for the long-awaited interview with Dallas Green of City and Colour, amazing musician, really nice guy. Read below.
For those of you who sway more towards the darker side of music, Leeds Festival is definitely the one for you. Of course, Leeds didn’t start out seeped in screams, riffs and bottling tiffs. If you’re partial to a Werther’s Original and enjoy growing veg in your allotment, you may recall a small, solo, jazz and blues festival starting life in Surrey somewhere around 1961. After spending a decade delighting music fans, this annual jamboree finally found its sacred home in central Reading. It wasn’t until the eve of the new millennium when Reading found its festival soul mate in Leeds (starting life at the Temple Newsam manor estate – the same grounds as V Festival back in ‘97 and ‘98).
